In 1974 in Xi’an, China farmers digging a well discovered a vast underground cavern containing thousands of life sized terra cotta warriors. Further excavation nearby revealed two more underground rooms and a total terra cotta army of more than 6,000 armed soldiers and horses that were perfectly preserved for over two thousand years.
